As the CEO of Housing on Merit, Jaymie Beckett brings over two decades of expertise in real estate investments, development, and operations. Her career reflects a journey through diverse sectors of the real estate industry, in both institutial orgnaizations and entrepreneurial ventures.
Commencing her career at Deutsche Bank Securities in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group, Jaymie laid the foundation for her profound understanding of the institutional real estate landscape. This experience set the tone for her subsequent roles, including her impactful tenure at Related Capital, where she played a pivotal role in strategic and capital raising initiatives for publicly traded companies, focusing on Affordable Multifamily solutions.

In 2005, Jaymie’s journey took her to UCLA Anderson for an MBA, sparking a transition from corporate finance to acquisitions and development. Her roles at Auberge Resorts and the co-founding of AJ Capital Partners showcased her entrepreneurial spirit, successfully navigating the complexities of the hospitality sector.

Post-AJ Capital Partners, Jaymie directed her focus towards high-street retail and multifamily as the Head of Acquisition at Blatteis & Schnur. Spearheading acquisitions and capital raising efforts, she played a key role in notable projects, demonstrating her knack for identifying lucrative opportunities.

The creation of the Calderly Group marked a new chapter, culminating in a successful joint venture in Salt Lake City, Utah, displaying her adaptability and entrepreneurial prowess.

Now, as the CEO of Housing on Merit, Jaymie channels her extensive real estate expertise towards addressing one of the biggest crises of our generation—access to affordable housing for vulnerable populations. The Calderly Group, under her leadership, has transitioned to providing advisory services, focusing on guiding High Net Worth individuals and family offices in private real estate investments with a mission-driven approach.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Jaymie actively contributes to organizations like the Cedar Sinai Board of Governors and the Cayton Museum Women’s Philanthropy Circle. A Middlebury College alumna with an MBA from UCLA Anderson, Jaymie, along with her husband and two daughters, resides in Brentwood.

Kicking off her journey in investment banking at Deutsche Bank Securities, Jaymie honed her skills, setting the stage for a career in real estate. Her early experiences paved the way for impactful roles, notably at Related Capital, where she played a pivotal role in strategic and capital raising initiatives for the Affordable Housing financier. Related Capital specialized in LIHTC bond originations and tax-credit equity syndications.

Following her time at Related Capital, Jaymie returned home to California to attend UCLA Anderson School of Business and obtain her MBA, where she was the prestigious ULI Kenneth M. Good Fellowship.

Embracing the entrepreneurial spirit post graduate school, Jaymie co-founded AJ Capital Partners, delving into private equity and navigating the hospitality sector’s complexities. Her leadership resulted in over $500 million in acquisitions of distinctive hospitality assets. Later, Jaymie expanded her product focus to include retail and multifamily, serving as the Head of Acquisition at Blatteis & Schnur and then creating the Calderly Group to embark on direct investments. In 2017, she formed a joint venture, successfully acquiring and redeveloping 700 apartment units in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Now at the helm of Housing on Merit, Jaymie channels her extensive real estate expertise to address one of the most critical crises—access to affordable housing for vulnerable populations. It has been a long time dream of Jaymie to combine her real estate skills with mission-driven work. She is looking forward to honoring the incredible reputation and accomplishments Housing on Merit has achieved today and propel the organization to new heights under her stewardship.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Jaymie actively contributes to her community through her participation organizations like the Cedar Sinai Board of Governors, the Cayton Museum Women’s Philanthropy Circle and the UCLA REAG Endowment Circle. Jaymie is a Middlebury College alumna with an MBA from UCLA Anderson, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.
