Mission Statement

WAHN shines a light on women in affordable housing as they lead, thrive, and reshape the industry, with allies amplifying our mission every step of the way.

Vision Statement

To create a nationwide, women-led movement that strengthens women across the affordable housing industry to lead, innovate, and inspire lasting change. By bridging the gap between those who develop affordable housing and those who live in it, we strive to transform the industry through education, advocacy, and community building. Our vision is to be the leading national network that sets new standards for equity, fostering a strong alliance of women and allies dedicated to driving systemic change and creating equitable opportunities for all.

The Women’s Affordable Housing Network is the ONLY national nonprofit organization that focuses on promoting women in leadership and workplace equity for all individuals in the affordable housing industry.

Connect

Our objective is to establish a presence in every state / region by creating a chapter to facilitate idea exchange and expand professional networks. This will lead to improved quality of homes and services for residents of affordable housing, as well as greater opportunities to connect qualified candidates with top companies in the industry. Additionally, women in the industry will receive widespread support from our allies across the country.

Learn

We concentrate our efforts and programs towards keeping the industry up-to-date on the latest policies, instructing them on effective advocacy methods to guarantee that residents of affordable housing received top-notch housing and supportive services. We also focus on promoting professional growth for those already working in the affordable housing industry and introducing careers in affordable housing to college students and residents of affordable housing.

Strengthen

At Women’s Affordable Housing Network, we provide paths for women in the affordable housing industry to grow and succeed. Through mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities, we lift up women, helping them build strong, successful careers. Our commitment is to provide the resources, support, and connections needed to ensure women thrive and lead in their fields.

Advocate

We are a voice for affordable housing, staying at the forefront of policy discussions and legislative actions that impact our industry. Women’s Affordable Housing Network actively supports bills and initiatives that promote affordable housing solutions. By engaging with policymakers and staying informed on current events at the state and federal levels, we advocate for a future where affordable housing is accessible to all.

If you’ve attended one of our events, you’ve felt it.

There’s an energy around WAHN women and their allies that is palpable. WAHN is for real people who want to learn and grow and celebrate each other, and while we always aim to educate, raise awareness and establish meaningful connections at our events, we are always ourselves. We hope to see you at our next one.
