This position will deliver comprehensive legal and administrative support for the Legal Operations team of Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).  Responsibilities include supporting the Legal team on various matters, including commercial lending, single-family programs, bond issuances, and corporate and asset management matters.   The ideal candidate will have experience managing various administrative and executive tasks related to legal and business matters.  The ability to interface and work effectively and collaboratively with staff, including CHFA’s leadership, in a fast-paced environment is essential.  Success in this role will also be demonstrated by effectively handling and taking ownership of a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, being proactive and timely, as well as being willing to take on new challenges.  This position will report to the Managing Staff Attorney.

essential functions

  • Managing deadlines impacting both internal and external customers
  • Preparing correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents on behalf of attorneys, paralegals and loan closers
  • Accurately and timely processing the pre and post-closing commercial loan packages and transferring loan documentation to the appropriate business units and records database
  • Setting up and uploading project information in internal databases and systems
  • Obtaining and preparing materials for loan closings, meetings, etc., for attorneys, paralegals, and loan closers
  • Drafting and editing program documents and forms for new or existing programs
  • Filing documents with the Secretary of State, Clerk and Recorders, and other agencies
  • Performing various administrative functions, such as processing, filing, retrieving, and routing legal documents
  • Tracking multiple programs and processes
  • Collaborate with various members of CHFA’s Legal and Risk Management team, as well as peers in other divisions
  • Perform work independently with limited supervision
  • All other duties and projects as assigned

  • Familiarity with online research methods preferred

experience/education

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.  Experience in a legal support or paralegal role is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial loan closings and/or legal document preparation is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ongoing education or coursework in relevant legal areas is a plus.

work environment

The incumbent will perform the position’s essential functions primarily in a hybrid office environment. This environment requires typing using a computer keyboard and sitting (or, if preferred, standing) at a desk most of the day with or without accommodation. This position requires moderate to high levels of interaction and collaboration with others.
