Indiana WAHN (In Person) Day of Service

We are thrilled to invite you to the 5th Annual Day of Service hosted by the Indiana Women’s Affordable Housing Network at the Indiana Housing Conference! This year, we’re stepping up our efforts to make a difference in our community, and we need YOU to make it a success!
Onsite Project: Girls Inc. Indy
The mission of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis (Girls Inc. Indy) is: “to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.” Girls Inc. Indy offers comprehensive programming in healthy living, academic enrichment, and life skills instruction. We focus significantly on girls from low-income communities with historically marginalized intersecting identities. At Girls Inc., we empower girls to be confident in their skin, prepare them for their futures, take pride in who they are, and take their place in the world.
On-site activities will include putting together self-care kits, academic success kits, and calm down kits.
The link below shares Amazon Wishlist items that will be used to put these kits together. Please consider assisting with the donation of some of these items.

Offsite Event: DaySpring Center
Location: 1537 Central Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202
Dayspring Center’s mission is to lovingly meet the basic needs of homeless families seeking assistance and connect them with opportunities to help them realize their potential. Dayspring is an emergency shelter for homeless families, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Families seeking assistance at our emergency shelter are typically at a crisis stage and require the compassionate care and support of our case management team. While the bare necessities of food, clothing & shelter are of critical importance, Dayspring’s experienced case managers work with each family to develop a plan to help them address the underlying issues of their homelessness. When families are stabilized and ready to leave the emergency shelter facility, Dayspring services continue through the Follow-up Case Management Program.
On-site activities will include indoor and outdoor painting and organizing essential areas in the shelter ahead of Fall intake.
Please consider assisting with donations to the shelter via their Amazon Wish List or by purchasing the following urgent needs and taking the day of the offsite project. They are as follows:
Pillows – Twin Bed Sheets – Twin Pillowcases – Twin Blankets – Toilet Paper – Paper Towels – Clorox Bleach – All purpose Cleaning Spray and Wipes – 55 Gallon Trash Bags
Please only sign up for 1 event.
