Houston is partnering with The McGowan Foundation on a school drive for elementary and junior high students. Our goal is to collect 30 backpacks filled with supplies, though additional donations are always welcome. The McGowan Foundation was formed by Erwin McGowan, who has officed as a State Farm rep in the Fifth Ward community (One of Houston’s poorest and most underserved areas) for over 20 years. He often holds free financial literacy classes and helps with things like registering to vote. His goal is to provide resources (food pantry, home goods, etc.) to lower-middle-class and working-class families. Purchase items through Amazon Wishlist
