Mission

The mission of state Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) chapters is to empower and develop women working in the affordable housing sector through partnership, networking, allyship, advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement. We foster a supportive environment where individuals can bring their authentic selves, enabling the exchange of the brightest ideas. Driven by our collective goals, WAHN chapters work towards the establishment of a state-wide organization that brings together women from all sectors of the affordable housing industry. By uniting our expertise, passion, and resources, we aim to transform the affordable housing landscape, ensuring equitable access to secure and sustainable housing for all.

The COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS COMMITTEE creates chapter communications and plans events that support our mission and foster collaboration. Members interested in communications will help plan social media posts, markets chapter events, and update the website. Events planning will include: coffee hours, networking socials, and professional development. Our regional ambassadors assist in coordinating regionally specific events for our members.

The MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE’S purpose is to recruit new members who have an active role in the affordable housing industry, and assist in developing networking, volunteerism, and community engagement opportunities for members. This committee tracks member interest and directs them to appropriate committees or other chapter volunteer opportunities.

The SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE communicates with potential and existing sponsors to share the value of supporting WAHN. Committee members are responsible for tracking the amount of funds coming in from Sponsors as well as tracking the event marketing and social media posts for each Sponsor.
